Join our mission.
At We Worthy Women (WWW), our goal is to create a diverse and inclusive team that represents all of the communities we serve. The WWW Board is decentralized and remotely based, so we can tap into the skills and competencies of future members from across Nova Scotia.

If you are a member of one of these equity groups, you are encouraged to self-identify on your application if you feel comfortable doing so.
Additionally, we are seeking individuals to join the Board with qualifications, attributes, and work or volunteer experience with:
Academic or subject-matter expertise in the gender equality and/or gender-based violence sector
Finance & Accounting
Fundraising
Government Relations
Marketing
Members of the We Worthy Women board are instrumental in supporting the vision and mission of WWW in Nova Scotia. As an organization, we are committed to shaping a world where women and gender-diverse individuals thrive. Together, we are building a future that’s safe, equitable, and inclusive for all.
As a volunteer member of our Board, you are highly skilled, experienced professionals who bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise in your respective areas of practice. This includes your ‘lived’ experience. We are a learning organization and will work together to learn and grow, to support the development and sustainability of We Worthy Women as a young non-profit. Previous Board experience is not a requirement.
About We Worthy Women
Founded in 2018 as a social impact Instagram page, We Worthy Women has grown into a successful non-profit organization dedicated to advancing gender equality and addressing gender-based violence. Starting as a grassroots movement, our social media community quickly expanded to a community of over 14,000 by sharing content to empower women and challenge gender norms. We incorporated as a non-profit organization in July 2020, with a focus on creating actionable change to support community resilience in Nova Scotia, and beyond. Since 2021 we have received a number of grants that have informed and shaped the work we do, including addressing campus sexual violence within post-secondary communities through a federally funded initiative called Action Now Atlantic. Through this work we engaged campuses in educational campaigns, developed platforms for youth advocacy, and created a cross-provincial network of knowledge and resource mobilization. We are dedicated to taking a decolonized and feminist approach to all of the work we do. Learn about our Commitment to Inclusion.
