What We Do

Since incorporating as a non-profit organization in July 2020, we have received a number of grants that have informed and shaped the work we do. We are currently in a capacity building stage as an organization, having received funding from Women and Gender Equality Canada (WAGE), and are exploring how to broaden our impact and continue to create meaningful change within our communities. You can learn more about some of our previous work below.

Action Now Atlantic

Action Now Atlantic (ANA) was a federally funded initiative and campaign to address sexual violence within post-secondary communities in Atlantic Canada through education, advocacy, and community engagement. Through this project we engaged campuses in educational campaigns, developed platforms for youth advocacy, and created a cross-provincial network of knowledge and resource mobilization. While the funding for this project has ended, we will continue to update the ANA resource hub and amplify the efforts of other organizations doing important work to make post-secondary communities safe for everyone. This initiative was generously funded by Women and Gender Equality Canada (WAGE).

Safer Schools Survey

The Safer Schools Survey was an initiative to better understand student and alumni experience with sexual violence, and consent education & resources at Canadian post-secondary institutions. Our aim was to identify current gaps, and what needs to change to better support survivors and end sexual violence on campus.

This initiative was made possible thanks to the Taking it Global Rising Youth Grant and the Government of Canada. Read the full report here.

It’s Not Just

We Worthy Women was a community partner for It’s Not Just, a youth focused GBV awareness campaign from Women and Gender Equality Canada. As a community partner we supported the development of educational content, distributed campaign materials to community organizations across Atlantic Canada, and amplified youth voices to be part of the development and distribution of the campaign.

Change Makers

Change Makers was an Instagram live interview series hosted by We Worthy Women co-founders, Madeline and Holly. We interviewed people doing inspiring work internationally, ranging from motivational speakers to organizations working to end human trafficking. It is an informative and fun way to learn more about issues that are impacting women and girls worldwide.
